자녀에게 가정 정규 소아 성교육을 시킬 때 자녀가 가지고 있는 성 관념, 또는 성 가치관 등의 성지식이 옳은지 옳지 않은지 알아보기 위해 적절한 때를 이용해 자녀에게 성에 관한 질문을 해 보기도 하고 자녀로부터 받은 질문에 답변을 하면서 가정 정규 소아 성교육을 하는 것이 좋다.
가정 정규 소아 성교육을 할 때 부모가 주입식으로 소아 성교육을 해서는 안 된다.
자녀가 틀린 성 지식을 가지고 있으면 그 틀린 성지식을 그때그때 고쳐줄 수 있어야 한다.
