    • 고환에서 정낭까지 연결되어 있는 관을 정관이라고 한다. 
    • 고환에서 만들어진 정자들이 정관을 통과해서 자지 귀두에 있는 외 요도구의 밖으로 사출되는 것이 정상적이다. 
    • 정관의 일부분을 수술로 잘라 내어 피임을 하는 수술을 정관 결찰수술 피임술이라 한다. (그림 11-13 참조) 
    • 정관 결찰수술 피임 술을 받은 남성과 성교할 때 정액이 질 강 속에 사정될 수는 있지만 그 정액 속에는 정자가 들어있지 않기 때문에 피임이 될 수 있다.

The tube that connects the testes to the seminal vesicle is called the vas deferens. It is normal for sperm produced in the testicles to pass through the vas deferens and be ejected out of the external urethra at the glans penis. The operation of contraception by surgically cutting out part of the vas deferens is called vasectomy contraception.

(See Figure 11-13) Semen can be ejaculated into the vaginal cavity during sexual intercourse with a man who has received vasectomy contraception, but since the semen does not contain sperm, it can be contraception.
